Yelagiri Hills, also known as Vellore Yelagiri, is a hill station in Tamil Nadu, India. Yelagiri hills situated in the Vellore district near the Krishnagiri. This hill is around 167 km away from Bangalore. Its height is 1,110.6 meter from the sea level and spread over in 30 km of land area. Punganoor Lake is one of the famous places to visit in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. This lake spread over in 57 sq meter area, and its depth is 10 to 12 feet. In the middle of the lake, there is a musical fountain whose height is 15 meters. Boating facility is also available in the Punganoor lake.
Telescope observatory also is known as Vainu Bappu Observatory because this observatory is built by Dr. Vainu Bappu and located in the Kavalar near to the Yelagiri. This telescope observatory set up to show the movement of the solar system and also view the beautiful green valley of hills.

Government Herbal Farm is located near to the Punganoor lake. The Forest Department of Tamil Nadu manages this Government farm. This farm is home to some rare herbs and Ayurvedic medicines.

Don Bosco Center gives IT training to poor and uneducated individuals to secure their future. This Centre was established by Fr. Guezou of France, and it additionally involves the IGNOU Study Center.
Nature Park Yelagiri Hills:
Nature Park is also a famous place in Yelagiri. It is located near the Punganoor lake. The nature park spread over 12 acres of land area. This is a peaceful and relaxing place for all people. There are many things in this park-like children’s park, bamboo house, musical fountain, artificial waterfall, and cascade, etc.
Jalangandeeswarar temple is one of the famous places to visit in Yelagiri. It is present in the heart of Vellore Fort. The architecture of the temple is stunning made from the craved sculptures and the stones which is appreciated by the tourist.
The Velavan temple, also known as Murugun temple dedicated to the Lord Murugan. It is the famous temple in the Yelagiri hills located at the right tip of the Yelagiri Mountains. There is a huge statue of the Godathgajan in the standing position.
