Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the best national parks of India, located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, IndiaBandhavgarh Declared as a Bandhavgarh National Park in the year 1968. Bandhavgarh National Park, approximately area, is 105 square kilometers. Bandhav‘ means ‘brother’ and ‘Garh’ means ‘fort’. This National Park derives its name from the most well-known hillock of the area. The story behind Hindu’s Lord Rama to be given by to his younger brother Lakshmana to keep an eye on Lanka. Hence it is called Bandhavgarh‘Brother’s fort.’ Bandhavgarh National Park is also well known for ‘land of tigers’. This National Park has a primarily breeding population of big cats like Royal Bengal TigersLeopards and various species of Deer.

Maharaja Martand Singh of Rewa hunts the first white tiger in this region in the year 1951. This white tiger name called ‘Mohan’ is now stuffed for display at the royal palace of the Maharajas of Rewa. Bandhavgarh National Park divided into three zones named as Tala, Magdi and Bamera. Best time for visit Bandhavgarh National Park is February to June, Bandhavgarh National Park will remain closed by 1 July to 15 October every year.

Bandhavgarh Fort

Bandhavgarh Fort is situated in Bandhavgarh in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is located on the Bandhavgarh hill, rising 811 meters above sea level at the Bandhavgarh National Park. It is surrounded by many smaller hills separated by gently sloping valleys. Bandhavgarh Fort was founded to be around two thousands years old. The Bandhavgarh Fort area is also filled with many temples where most of them depict the various reincarnations of Hindu’s Lord Vishnu and Lord Ganesha Along with that there are several man made caves with inscription and rock paintings in the Bandhavgarh Fort.

Mahu Kothi

The Photographer’s Point

The Photographer’s Point is located on top of a mountain in Bandhavgarh National Park. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful view of the wilderness, along with the flora and fauna of Bandhavgarh National Park, from the elevated spot. Since photography is not permitted from the point, visitors need to take special permission from the director of the park for this activity.

Bandhavgarh Hill

Bandhavgarh Hill is the highest hill in the reserve of Bandhavgarh lying in an altitude of 807 m above the sea level. Bandhavgarh Hill is formed from sandstone and water that permeates into it.  This unique formation, there are many springs and streams that originate from Bandhavgarh Hill. Rare species of insectivorous plant like Drocera Peltata is found alongside Acorus Calamus or Buch in this hill. Bandhavgarh Hill is famous for its attractive natural beauty and the cool climate. The enchanting view of hills is visible from as far as 30 km.
